2D measured survey for residential properties

Measured surveys are important in any home renovation, as they provide essential information needed to execute the job accurately.

Measured surveys are an important part of any home refurbishment or extension. For this project a set of Floor Plans, Elevation and Sections were needed for a detached family house near Woking. The four bedroom house was in need of a full renovation and BES was contracted to carry on the survey for the production of cad and pdf drawings to enable the architect to start the new design work

2D measured survey is a set of drawings or plans that show the dimensions of a property. This type of survey is often used as an initial design for extensions, refurbishments or modifications to residential properties. They provide accurate measurements of the existing building to allow architects, developers or engineers to create designs for extensions, refurbishments or any building addition and modification.

A measured survey is a set of 2D plans, elevations and sections of a property that shows all the measurements, including distances and angles, in relation to the building's boundaries. The surveyor will also identify any structures on or near the property and make note of any trees or other permanent features.

A 2D measured survey is the most common type of survey for residential property

A 2D measured survey is done by measuring the dimensions of the property that is being surveyed. This includes all distances from one point to another and heights from ground level to roof level.

It is crucial to collect all the information needed for the production of 2D measured surveys  from a single site visit, the more efficient way to do so is by using a 3D scanner that generates a point cloud for the entire building.

Point cloud data is a 3D representation of the physical building that is generated by laser scanning. It can be processed in Autocad to produce highly accurate As-Built drawings. The advantages of using this technique are that it is faster than traditional methods, it reduces errors and provides greater accuracy.

All the information needed are collected in a single site visit

All the information we needed was collected in a site visit, with everything delivered without delay. Our team was able to provide the survey results immediately and the 2D CAD drawings on time. The point cloud can be accessed from the day after the survey. The viewer is also available, so designers can visit a site at any time you choose and make revisions.
